Anton and Cecile are partners in life, and partners at work. Originally from South Africa, they’re now a proud part of the Brian Perry Civil team. Quantity Surveyor Anton and Business Analyst Cecile chose New Zealand to give their young family a better life. They may have left family behind in South Africa, but they’ve found a whole new support network with their Hamilton-based colleagues. Anton and Cecile say they’ve been welcomed and supported from day one, which has made all the difference to their new life in New Zealand.
After a month-long adventure in New Zealand, Mike went home to London and quit his job. He was done with the commute, and ready to embrace the work-life balance that’s on offer in Aotearoa. As a Fletcher Construction Project Manager, Mike gets great work opportunities as well as the chance to get outdoors at every opportunity. He’s been working on huge projects like Auckland’s Victoria Park and Waterview tunnels, while having the spare time to train for Ironman events. It’s the best of both worlds!
When he was called out of the blue and offered a job in New Zealand, Casper didn’t hesitate. His contracts management background is in demand, so a move here meant a chance to further his career, and improve his quality of life. An avid fisherman, South African Casper is making the most of New Zealand’s great outdoors. He’s hooked into something great here – an excellent career as well as a better way of life.
Kumar’s been around the world - testing the waters, so to speak - before settling in New Zealand for the long haul. UK, Singapore, and Japan all had plenty to offer, but there was just something about New Zealand. He knew it would be the place to call home, the place to raise his family. Eight years and four kids later… he hasn’t looked back! As a Project Engineer and with his specialty in wastewater, there’s certainly no questioning what's next for Kumar. He’s going to be at the forefront of some big national changes, but the best part? The time he can spend with his family.

After a major earthquake destroyed transport networks in the South Island town of Kaikoura, Higgins was chosen to assist with the recovery. The team not only helped to fix the road and rail links, but made them safer and more resilient as they went.
This project’s seeing our team delivering a four-lane motorway north of Auckland. We’re building a safer and more efficient connection between Puhoi and Warkworth that’ll improve journey times and freight efficiency, driving regional economic growth.
Following the worst drought on record, there was an urgent need to increase Auckland’s water supply. Fletcher Construction took up this challenge, delivering a new 50 million litre/day water treatment plant at Auckland Council’s existing facility. The Waikato 50 plant was built in record time and is one of the most sophisticated plants of its kind in New Zealand.
